Day 2 and 3 - Lunahuana
Things I figured I wouldn't do this soon (or ever) but already have:
1.) Eaten cuy. (Yes, that's guinea pig.)
2.) Had coca tea. (Yes, that's what cocaine comes from.)
3.) Climbed a mountain. (granted, little)
4.) Ordered a cocktail in Spanish. (delish)
5.) Cried. (Beautiful scenery, the poverty, the Southern Cross for the 1st time)
As for the story of these two days, since the pictures are so gorgeous, I'll let them speak for me...
PS - my internet connect just got worse so I'll post more pics soon!

ReplyDeleteI know that I will probably be able to say this about every post but I will try to refrain, except for this time........
I am SO jealous! I can just hear Jimmy Buffet singing about the Southern Cross. I love you.
Dad
you go girl -
ReplyDeletelove, aunt terri
I know, Dad! I look back at these pics, and I already wish I was back in the mountains. Lima (where I am now) is cool, don't get me wrong, but it's cloudy ALL the time and the buildings are colorful but dirty. Graffti everywhere. I'm realizing that big cities are where it's all happening and have tons to see, but nothing makes me happier than the countryside. My heart finds peace there. Love you muchisimo! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Aunt Terri! So glad to hear from you! I DID get your voicemail when I was in Miami, but by the time I could call you back, it was really late that night...
ReplyDeleteI hope you and mom had a great weekend visiting your ole stompin ground! Love you to the moon and past!
afterwards, a mom i had been talking to comes up and says, "devon, i have a question". i thought i was missing you so much i was pretending to be you to fill the void in my life without even realizing it. turns out, i accidently handled out a couple of cards with your name on it. lady wanted to know what the "'10" stood for if i was a sophomore graduating in 2012.
ReplyDeletepictures are amazing, continue to have an excellent time!

Savannah,
ReplyDeleteLOL well, I spent the night 2 nights ago at a really nice plantation where there was a grumpy alpaca. She would snort at everyone who walked by!
Love you too! Send my finger-monster some love as well ;)
